On Friday Isosec were speaking and exhibiting at The Future of Health and Social Care conference with Salford One CPD. You might remember a few months ago we had a presence at another of Salford One’s events: the Digital Health Summit 2015 that we had a lot of success from.
The day was held at home of Manchester City FC the Etihad Stadium. We spent most of the day in the lovely Citizens Suite where exhibitors set up their stands for the delegates to come around and chat to us over a coffee at their own leisure. The exhibitors weren’t too tightly packed which left a good pace for the day without having to rush around to talk to everyone.
The speakers for the presentations that were given included Ian Williamson, the Chief Officer for Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Devolution,
‘Our aim is quite simple: to achieve the greatest and fastest improvement to health and wellbeing.’ – Ian Williamson.
We also heard from Mike Burrows of the Manchester Academic Health Science Network on the importance of the network to drive improvements; as well as Basem A Khalil from Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital on the advantages of devolution and balancing the health inequality gap. We even gave our very own presentation of what the picture of intelligent data could look like in an organisation, and how it has worked for Imperial College NHS.
One poignant thing that we took away from The Future of Health and Social Care was the impact our product MIA had on the social care sector. Previously we have been primarily engaged with the NHS and solely with healthcare. However, on having some great conversations with workers from all parts of Social Care we realised that actually MIA would benefit them equally, if not more so.
We know that MIA reaps benefits for any paper-based process but particularly those working in the community setting. It makes sense then that social workers should benefit greatly too. We spoke to a lot of social workers that thought MIA would totally change their working lives from the savings in travel and efficiency.
